Women's Resource Center

The Drop In Center is a safe place for women at highest risk of contracting HIV/AIDS including those who exchange sex for drugs, substance abusers, and homeless. The Site provides Health Education, showers, washer and dryer, snacks, and access to computers for training, resume writing and job search.

Horizon tries to reach women where they are and guide them through the process of addressing their needs with linkages to housing, mental health, drug treatment and resources that will allow them to reduce their risks and improve their quality of life. Hours of operation are geared toward our clients to ensure they have access to our services in hours most needed.

The Latino Initiative provides similar services with a direct focus on the Latino Community and includes services for males. This is a special initiative from the Centers for Disease Control to address the high incidence of transmission for the Latino Community in Jersey City. Initiative includes outreach, education and group sessions for those at highest risk.
