A TRADITION OF CARING

Today, Horizon Health Center is more than a Community Health Center. Over 40 years since its humble inception at an Episcopal Parish House clinic, run by volunteers on Saturday mornings, Horizon, today offers full comprehensive health care. Not only does it funcion as a primary care agency, but as a referral agency for a diverse range of prevention and social services, as well as educational and medical concerns.

Horizon Health Center supports two centers that focus on advancing the science of medicine while providing outstanding patient care. Diverse programs offered include Adult Medicine, Pediatrics, Obstetrics, Gynecology, Family Planning, Dentistry, Psychiatry, Podiatry and Behavioral Health. Each year, Horizon Health Center services approximately 12,000 patients and handles more than 40,000 outpatient visits.

Reflecting both Jersey City's multicultural population and its patient base, Horizon Health Center has over 150 employees and has approximately 20 physicians on its medical staff. Our Physicians, Certified Nurse Midwives, Advanced Practical Nurses, along with other medical staff and employees are fluent in most foreign languages and dialects.

We are JCAHO accredited and have all the innovative technology that is expected of a major medical center, but with a difference. Our environment is small enough to insure patients of calm, homelike surroundings, and a capable and caring professional staff, resulting in a perfect blend of sensitivity and technology.
